To the left you see an image of a bamboo clarinet. Admittedly, the finger holes are not really spaced evenly. Hence the scale produced is rather odd. At least I can get music, of sorts out of this particular instrument.

Now here are prototype clarinets, each made from PVC. These, as well as the bamboo instrument, use tenor saxophone reeds (go figure!).
